Creative Web Design

Today, web design trends are more modern than ever.  Parallax scrolling, ghost buttons, and full screen design are taking over the online space.

Since the new website trends of 2015 can be a little overwhelming.  We’ve compiled the top 8 web design tips, guaranteed to make your website look awesome.

Flat Design

We’re all familiar with flat design.  The two-dimensional, crisp edges, with bright colors are a style that have been growing in popularity over the years.

In 2015, the flat design trend is here to stay, and it’s popping up all over the web.  Flat design works great for websites because the bright contrasting colours make illustrations and buttons pop off the background.  This is very eye catching, and makes for a quick and easy user experience.

Just don’t be afraid to get creative, and mix flat design with other styles.

Ghost Buttons

Button styles are an easy way to spruce up your site, and ghost buttons are a big trend this year.

So, what exactly is a ghost button?

Ghost buttons are transparent, empty buttons that are outlined by a thin line, with the internal section containing plain text.  Hover animation can also be added to create a nice effect.

They are stylish and attract attention, but keep in mind they aren’t right for every site.  Flat and minimalistic websites are ideal for ghost buttons.

Full Screen Web Design

A technique borrowed from digital ads and printed covers, full screen backgrounds offer maximum impact and are a great way to immerse users into your brand.

Full screen imagery can be comprised of either images, or video, and it is even possible to have a moving slideshow.  These stunning images, work great as great attention triggers.

Parallax Scroll

Parallax scrolling is a technique in which the background image moves more slowly than the images in the foreground.  The technique was first popular in video games, but now it is moving into the web world.

Parallax creates the illusion of depth and immersion, which makes it a great way to tell a story and make your content easier to consume.

Google Map Embed

Google maps are becoming a standard on many websites.  Giving customers a visual location of your business, is a great way to encourage people to visit your location.

Take advantage of the customizing options Google provides, and design the map to fit your brand identity.

Minimalist Web Design

Create a simple web design, minimalism is key. Think of KISS, Keep It Short and Simple (or what you we’re probably thinking Keep It Simple Stupid)

Since  minimalist sites load faster, use fewer server resources, and are often faster to develop, why wouldn’t you go for a minimalist design.

Web Typography

The internet is full of written content, so good typography is key.   When you get it right you provide a better reading experience for your users.

Finding the right font can make all the difference to your site.  Check out Google Fonts to provide yourself with endless possibilities.

Another tip to make your website look amazing, is pairing large type with fullscreen design to make a lasting impression.

Navigation Widget

Page navigation is necessary to your page but that doesn’t mean it needs to be boring, add some animation to make it interesting.

Remember your users will have a better experience if they are able to access the navigation from anywhere on the page.
