Effective Internet Marketing: 6 Interesting Stats
So what exactly is Effective Internet Marketing in 2013? I’m sure it means something different to almost everyone. Let’s break it down:
Wikipedia defines Internet marketing as: “the marketing and promotion of products or services over the Internet.” I read that and said come on, we can do better than that.
So I found this: Effective Internet marketing (a.k.a. online marketing or digital marketing) as defined by webopedia.com is any and all “advertising and marketing efforts that use the web and email to drive direct sales via e-commerce as well as sales leads from websites or emails.”
I know you’re thinking there’s way more to Internet marketing than just that! What about Search Engine Marketing (SEM) using Google AdWords, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and Social Media Marketing – free and paid (Facebook’s Sponsored Stories and Twitter’s Promoted Tweets).
Some if not all of those tactics are certainly included in any effective Internet marketing strategy, but clearly what works for one business may not work for the other.
It’s important to understand that it takes time to develop your Internet marketing strategy and to figure out what works best for you to reach your goals.
